Here we are at the end of the 2014-2014 school year. It has been a great year full of challenges and successes. Briefly, I wanted to share some ideas I have planned for next year as we look ahead.
1. Curriculum Mapping. Developing a general outline of what your child will be learning for the entire year.
2. Going to an 80% paperless classroom. Students will use multiple technology (computers, laptops, smartphones, social media, tablets, etc.) and other digital tools to assist them in their learning and help me with classroom instruction.
3. BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology). This is in conjunction with idea #2.
4. Genius Hour. This idea began in modern tech companies such as Google, Apple and others. Students each week will have an opportunity to share and develop ideas on various topics of their choice in order to find solutions to problems (school, home, community and/or globally) they discover.
These are just some of the ideas I have planned. Please share with me what you would like to see happen in class next year.
